Meghan Markle’s advice for working parents to make breakfast fun for kids has been slammed as out of touch.
The recommended sprinkling flower petals on cut-up fruit as a way for working mums like her to “find the fun” at breakfast time in a clip for her new lifestyle series on .
Her claim to being a working parent was slammed by critics, however, with TalkTV host Mike Graham suggesting that no “working woman” would have time for such luxuries.
The mum-of-two’s new programme , was released on today. Its mission statement is “taking something ordinary and elevating it.”
A clip released ahead of the highly-anticipated series showed Meghan instructing viewers on how to make a “little morning plate” of berries and fruit – joking that she would add a sprinkle of flower petals on top “if we must”.

“You don’t have to do a big platter of this,” she said. “You could do this with one small row for your kids for breakfast, genuinely, and it makes the morning a lot more fun.
“It’s a real delight in being able to be a present parent, and it’s a luxury sometimes, because we all have to work.”
“Finding the fun in those moments makes for a really sweet start to the weekend,” the Duchess added.
“It doesn’t need to be big for a party. It’s how you can incorporate these practices every day.”

But Graham, who hosts the Morning Glory programme on TalkTV, ridiculed the video in his slot on Tuesday morning.
“Imagine being married to her,” the broadcaster said, going on to poke fun at the extravangance of “making a rainbow from some fruit and flowers” for breakfast.
“How about a bacon sandwich?” he asked, “What’s going on?”
With Love, Meghan will offer audiences an insight into the 43-year-old’s “personal tips and tricks”, according to promotional material, and show her “embracing playfulness over perfection and [highlighting] how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected.”
