Meghan Markle changes tack after new Netflix show showcases her ‘dominating tutor’ side

Analysing Meghan Markle’s body language in the episode ‘Hello, Honey!’ , an expert believes the Duchess of Sussex is showing her “dominant side”. Despite appearing “childlike, and vulnerable” in some scenes, Meghan also appears “controlling in others”, it is claimed.

Speaking on behalf of , body language expert, Judi James, exclusively talked with the Express about Meghan’s gestures as she welcomed her friend on the show, New York-based makeup artist, Daniel Martin. In one scene of the first episode, Daniel accidentally cuts his hand as he helps Meghan with chopping ingredients. Judi adds: “We’re shown Meghan appearing childlike and vulnerable in some scenes but also dominant and controlling as the ‘tutor’ in others.”

The body language expert also reveals an insight into how Meghan feels about the topics of conversation had between the two friends. She explained: “Meghan seems to conduct their chat about the past, using a wary, rounded eye expression and a hand on her hip to appear dominant but also steering using the reward gestures of a softer expression and a puckered-with pride smile when he gets onto the subject of The Tig.”

The expert also claims viewers are seeing a “newer version of Meghan’s body language”. She said: “There are no touches or hugs on display in this episode despite the fact we see the arrival of her guest that she has spent so long prepping for. There is just a rigid reward hug for the bee keeper that is very much hands-off thanks to honey fingers.

In the episode Meghan and Daniel are described as being so close that Meghan revealed her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, call the artist ‘Uncle Daniel’, and said he has been there to support her “before, during and after” major events of her life.

In a social media post before the show launched, the makeup artist called the show “The Tig TV”, and shared the series teaser on his account.

He captioned his post: “ONE MORE DAY!!! I Couldn’t be more proud of you sis. To all our Tig friends from years past, welcome to ‘Tig TV’ 2025!!” The “Tig” is a reference to Meghan’s now-defunct lifestyle blog.
