Former presenter and his wife Ellie Penfold are going separate ways after an impressive near two-decade run.
The couple, who share an adorable brood of four with the ex- ace, have officially announced their split tonight, with Ellie making a heart-wrenching statement to her followers online today (March 4). Football pundit Jermaine has yet to break his silence on the matter.
Taking to social media, a candid Ellie shared, “I never imagined I would have to share something so personal with the public, but given the situation, I feel it’s necessary.”
Continuing her emotional dispatch, she revealed, “After 16 years together and 4 wonderful children, Jermaine and I have decided to part ways. We will remain friends and continue to co-parent. We kindly ask that you respect our children’s privacy during this challenging time. Thank you, Ellie.”
Their split comes less than a year after Jermaine parted ways with the in August after being accused of sending inappropriate texts to female colleagues.

He the departed The One Show which he regularly presented alongside his former co-host Alex Jones.
At the time of the scandal, Jermaine issued an apology saying: “I am ashamed, and I am deeply sorry.” He added: “I have let myself down, my family, friends and colleagues down, and I owe everyone an apology – especially the women with whom I was messaging. I am so, so sorry.”
The pair had been married for 13 years since they tied the knot in 2011
Their split comes after Jermaine, 41, had spent the last few months apologising to his family and the public since the texts came to light.
Ellie was reportedly left “raging” and kicked the former star out of their bedroom at their £1 million family home when it was revealed he had sent explicity messages to two members of staff at the .

At the time, he told The Sun: “We’ve not really spoken properly since. She’s absolutely raging.”
He praised his wife as an “amazing mother”, saying she is “kind” and just “needs some time”.
Jermaine, who shares two daughters and a son with Ellie, said that the couple were no longer sharing a bedroom at their family home in Hertfordshire.
Jermaine presented The One Show and appeared on Match of the Day for the , had been sacked by the corporation in August following complaints about workplace conduct.
The former footballer had been taken off air from both primetime shows. He has since returned to punditry work last month.
