Homebase has announced 13 more “new and exclusive” garden centres will soon be opening across the UK. More than 20 ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’ have already officially opened inside superstores after the DIY and garden retailer in November last year, and more are set to follow over the coming weeks.
struck a deal with retail group CDS – which owns The Range – after calling in administrators in 2024, blaming a decline in consumer confidence and spending post-pandemic for its collapse. The deal saw CDS snap up 70 , helping to secure around 1,600 jobs, while B&Q also agreed to take control of five branches, taking over sites in Altrincham, Basingstoke, Biggleswade, Leamington Spa and Worcester. These stores are expected to be converted into B&Q sites in the spring.
Four former Homebase stores are also to be transformed into Wickes after the home improvement retailer acquired the leases as part of its ongoing store opening and refit programme.
The four stores are due to reopen later this year under the Wickes brand, serving catchment areas that don’t currently benefit from a store.
In an update to customers on its Facebook page this week, Homebase announced 13 more of its garden centres inside The Range superstores will officially open over the next two months. A total of 10 Homebase garden centres will open in March, followed by a further three in April. The openings follow the 21 Garden centres by Homebase that have already opened inside The Range stores across the UK.
In a post on Facebook, Homebase said: “THREE more ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’ officially OPEN this Friday 7th March: Bodmin, High Wycombe, Selby.
