Emmerdale Dylan star Fred Kettle’s life from real age to forgotten BBC drama role

Emmerdale actor Fred Kettle has returned to the soap as Dylan, initially introduced in April’s special flashback episode. Dylan, the homeless character who befriended April Windsor (played by Amelia Flanagan) during her time on the streets, played a crucial role in protecting her while she was pregnant and homeless before her tragic miscarriage and hospitalisation.

After losing touch with Dylan upon returning to the village, a struggling April aims to re-establish contact.

On Tuesday (March 4), she boldly invited him over, much to the concern of Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and her father, (Mark Charnock).

Although Marlon granted permission for Dylan to spend one night, upcoming plots thicken as Dylan’s life hangs in the balance due to a drug overdose.

Off-screen, the 18-year-old Fred Kettle is honing his artistic talents at CAPA College in Wakefield, Yorkshire, which expressed immense pride in his role with a congratulatory post.
