US President has demanded a halt to American military aid for following his heated Oval Office confrontation with .

A White House official stated that Trump is intent on achieving a peace deal to conclude the , and desires Zelensky to be “committed” to this objective.

However, the official also revealed that the US will now “pause and review” its aid to “ensure that it is contributing to a solution.” The official spoke anonymously this morning to discuss the assistance.

Under the Biden administration, the US had pledged more than $65 billion in military assistance, according to . That includes air defense equipment, guns, ammunition, missiles, laser-guided rocket systems, air surveillance radars, helicopters, bomb launchers, hundreds of thousands of artillery rounds, tanks, armored vehicles, boats and more.

Bloomberg reported that aid currently in will not be effected. The pause is on aid in transition on aircrafts or ships to Ukrainian troops.

The US president also lambasted Mr Zelensky – – for suggesting a deal to end the war with “is still very, very far away”.

“This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelensky, and America will not put up with it for much longer,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, reports

“It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelensky, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the US – probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against . What are they thinking?”.
