s husband, Carl Dean, has died at 82, leaving the country music icon to reminisce on their “many wonderful years together.”

In a heart-rending announcement made on Monday morning, Dolly confirmed Carl’s death after nearly six decades as husband and wife. He passed away in Nashville, the city they called home throughout their marriage.

Carl Dean, who maintained a life far from the public eye, is mourned by his siblings Sandra and Donnie, and he will be honoured in a private burial attended only by close family members.

The official statement released noted, “Carl Dean, husband of , passed away on March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He was survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie.”

Dolly expressed her deep love and the special bond they shared, stating, “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years.

“Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.”, reports

Married since 1966, shunning all red carpet events and glitzy showbiz gatherings, instead dedicating himself to his paving business and life on their Tennessee farm.

In a touching interview with the Mirror, Dolly once confided her appreciation for Carl’s steadfast love and acceptance, saying, “I love the fact he loves me, sees me, tolerates me, because of and in spite of myself,”.

“It’s all about the sweet little things he does like picking flowers for me, making my coffee in the morning. He is incredibly thoughtful and we love each other for all the same reasons.

“We are very different but very compatible. And it just works.The two greatest gifts God ever gave me was a best friend – Judy – and then Carl.

“I can’t imagine what my life would have been without them.”
