Concert announcement: Darius Rucker bringing the twang to Rogers Place Oct. 17

Darius Rucker only wants to be with you (and of course thousands of others) to share Beers and Sunshine this Oct. 17 at Rogers Place on an eight-stop tour of Canada.

This tour of the renowned and beloved Hootie and the Blowfish singer long leaning into country (since 2008) is in support of his seventh and latest solo album, Carolyn’s Boy, named after his mother and featuring the country-sexy Fires Don’t Start Themselves.

If we’re extra lucky we might even hear his head-twanger, seven-minute cover of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters — but expect to enjoy any of his nine No. 1 Country Airplay chart-busters like If I Told You, This, Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It, It Won’t Be Like This for Long, Wagon Wheel and as mentioned, the newish Beers and Sunshine.

And don’t forget the Grand Ole Opry member and three-time Grammy winner is part of the Hootie juggernaut that sold 25 million albums worldwide, Cracked Rear View in the top best-selling studio albums ever, in between Elvis’ Christmas Album and Green Day’s Dookie.

Following the Edmonton date, Rucker will head to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena (that’s a thing!), then off to Regina, Winnipeg and Toronto.
