BBC legend Sally Taylor has announced her departure from the broadcaster after an incredible 38-year career.
Taylor, who has been a mainstay on South Today since 1987, will present her final programme on March 20. The veteran journalist is believed to be the longest-standing female presenter of a flagship regional news show.
She has spent decades delivering the biggest news stories to viewers across the South of England.
Taylor reflected fondly on her time in the industry, saying: “I fell into television 40 years ago and never thought I’d still be doing it today, but the time has come to hand over the reins to someone else who I hope will cherish the job as much as I have.
“Being the presenter of a daily 6:30pm regional programme is one of the best jobs in television. South Today has given me opportunities that would never have been possible anywhere else and I’m so grateful for that.”
