Towards Zero complete cast as Agatha Christie adaptation comes to BBC

The much-anticipated TV series Towards Zero, featuring a star-studded cast, will premiere on One on Sunday, 2 March. The three-part drama is an adaptation of the 1944 Agatha Christie novel.

Ahead of its release, a teaser, shared alongside a short trailer, hints: “After a scandalous divorce, a tennis star, his ex-wife, and a volatile mix of guests converge at a coastal estate. When murder strikes, a troubled detective must unravel the truth.”

Set in 1936 against the backdrop of England, Towards Zero promises viewers an “explosive love triangle,” a “formidable matriarch,” and a “deadly web of jealousy and deceit.”

This new entry into ‘s repertoire stars a host of familiar faces, including talents from fame and one notable actress.

In the series, Sex Education’s Mimi Keene steps into the shoes of Kay Elliott-Strange, while Irish talent Ella Lily Hyland portrays Audrey Strange, reports .

Meanwhile, alum Oliver Jackson-Cohen emerges as Neville Strange, with Anjelica Huston bringing to life Camilla, Lady Tressilian. The roles of Mrs Barrett, Sylvia, and Thomas Royde are deftly undertaken by Jackie Clune, Grace Doherty, and Jack Farthing respectively.

Clarke Peters comes aboard as Mr. Treves, Matthew Rhys slips into the role of Inspector Leach, and Anjana Vasan breathes life into Mary Aldin. Complementing the lineup, Alexander Cobb, Khalil Ben Gharbia, and Adam Hugill join the arresting ensemble cast of Towards Zero.

The official synopsis for Towards Zero reveals: “England, 1936. Following a scandalous public divorce, Nevile Strange and his former wife Audrey shockingly decide to spend a summer together at Gull’s Point, their childhood home and the coastal estate of Nevile’s aunt, Lady Tressilian.

“With unresolved issues between the ex-lovers and the presence of Nevile’s new spouse Kay, the atmosphere is fraught with tension. The situation is further complicated by a long-suffering lady’s companion, a mysterious gentleman’s valet, an estranged cousin bearing a grudge, a respected family solicitor, a curious orphan and a French swindler, setting the stage for murder.

“A beleaguered detective must reignite his passion to unravel a tangled web of jealousy, deceit, and dysfunction. Can he crack the case before another victim falls? A volatile love triangle, a formidable matriarch, and a house party filled with adversaries. All driven… Towards Zero.”

Towards Zero begins airing on One on Sunday, 2 March at 9pm.
