has kickstarted 2025 with a number of royal engagements so far, however these visits aren’t the only thing on The Princess of Wales’s mind.

As well as focusing on her royal work and projects, including preparing for the future role as Queen, Princess Kate, 43, is also reportedly set to become the first Princess of Wales to issue her own royal warrants.

Kate could give royal warrants to some of her favourite brands, which means these brands can display the royal arms on its products. This ensures companies who regularly supply goods or services to the royal household are recognised.

The warrants, usually mainly issued by the King and Queen, are granted for up to five years, with there currently being over 800 royal warrant holders.

Sources close to Kate told that it was her “hope” that the warrants would be announced soon as she is “keen to recognise British skills and industry”.

It is believed the last Princess of Wales to grant royal warrants was Queen Mary of Teck, who started issuing them before her husband, George V, ascended the throne in 1910.

King Charles has been issuing royal warrants since 1980 when he then held the title of the Prince of Wales, however Princess Diana was never given the opportunity to do this.

While it is unconfirmed, it is believed royal warrants will be issued to some of Kate’s most favourite brands including fashion brands such as Alexander McQueen and Mulberry.

The Royal Family website states that firms holding these warrants do not provide their goods or services for free to the Royal Households or members of the Royal Family.

Companies do not have to be British owned or UK-based to be granted a royal warrant.

It has not been confirmed when Kate will begin issuing royal warrants.
