UK presenter Jonathan Ross has shared a rather embarrassing tale from a stay at a London hotel, where he and his wife Jane Goldman were made to feel uncomfortable by staff after choosing to watch television together over using the room’s provided sex toys.
The 64 year old recounted the tale on the ‘Reel Talk with Honey and Jonathan Ross’ podcast, explaining how things took an awkward turn after a Valentine’s Day retreat with their dogs.
The couple, intent on unwinding, encountered an overpriced array of intimate accessories in their room, but opted for a movie night instead. However, handling a malfunctioning TV brought in a technician, and ultimately led to a memorable checkout experience the following day.
Jonathan humorously recounted: “It was a sort of a sexy hotel so it was all dark inside and there were young, attractive, men and women working downstairs and when we got to the room, there was a drawer next to the room service fridge.
“It had sex toys in it that you could buy. They were really overpriced because they were high end vibrating toys, handcuffs, masks, feathers.

“But they were like £300. We didn’t partake in this, we had the dogs with us,” he joked. “I thought we’ll have a lovely bath in a big bath, we’ll order some room service and watch a movie in bed.”
He continued: “When we checked out, they said ‘Did you have a nice time? Did you have a lovely stay?’ I said, ‘The TV didn’t work and it should be quite a simple fix, and I do think that should be a minimum requirement for a room.
“She went, ‘Oh yes, people who stay here don’t use the TV very much’. Don’t shame me into thinking I should have paid for your overpriced vibrator, just because I wanted to watch The 1% Club!
“I felt like they were judging me, frankly,” he humorously pointed out.

Whilst Jonathan didn’t enjoy the cheeky “judgemental” remark, ahead of fronting the coverage of the Oscars for ITV, he did judge who he thought would and wouldn’t win.
The Masked Singer panellist said he felt Aardman Animations, who produce the Wallace and Gromit films, will struggle to win because of the quality of the opposition.
He predicted: “Wallace and Gromit have their first nomination in 15 years but here’s the thing, I’m so excited and pleased to see Wallace and Gromit get nominated because those films are masterpieces.
“It’s just unfortunate for them that they’re in a year where there’s another animated film I think, which is as good if not better than any other one made, which is Inside Out 2.
“Which is just amazing scripting, amazing emotional connection, incredibly kind of truthful and honest about that difficult period in people’s lives. So I suspect that’s going to be the win on the night, but it’s so heartening to see a Aardman getting nominated.”
