The 97th Academy Awards, better known as the , are set to take place tonight (March 2), attracting a host of A-list celebrities from the world of film and theatre to Los Angeles for the renowned awards ceremony.
As the biggest event of the awards season, the Oscars give prestigious accolades in categories such as acting, directing, and writing, drawing some of ‘s biggest stars to its red carpet.

Where can you watch the Oscars in the UK?
The 2025 Oscars will be aired live on ITV1 and will also be available for streaming on ITVX. The coverage on ITV will be hosted by Jonathan Ross, who will be joined by special celebrity guests.
Meanwhile, presenter Ross King will be on the red carpet to greet arrivals and chat to the stars.
ITVX viewers can also access the complimentary Oscars 24/7 Channel, which will showcase Oscar-nominated and winning films throughout the awards season. Viewers in Scotland can watch on STV and STV Player.
What time do the Oscars start?
Due to the time difference with Los Angeles, UK film fans planning to watch the Oscars live should brace themselves for a late night. Coverage begins tonight at 10.30pm on ITV1 with the red carpet arrivals.
The awards ceremony itself commences at midnight and concludes at 3.05am GMT.

Comedy veteran Conan O’Brien is set to host the Oscars for the first time. With a comedic background that includes writing for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons, hosting his own late-night talk show, and presenting at the Emmys, it’s guaranteed to be a night filled with laughter.

The awards ceremony will feature several live performances. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, stars of Wicked, will grace the stage with music from the film.

Expect performances from Doja Cat, Queen Latifah and Raye as well, though details will remain under wraps until the event.
