Host Matt Tebbutt found himself in a bit of a sticky situation when his TV guest Alfie Boe made a revelation on-air that he had simply not been prepared for.
The 51-year-old presenter was joined by the iconic singer on Saturday Kitchen, along with Welsh chef Bryn Williams, who would be cooking up a storm for Matt’s guest in the kitchen.
Bryn, who hailed in from Wales, was serving up a proud staple from his homeland and couldn’t wait to showcase his dish that would include pink lamb cutlets, teamed with a tomato, onion and courgette ratatouille.
Most people in the studio were delighted with Bryn’s meal choice, however Alfie appeared to be shying away from adding any praise.
Matt turned to Alfie to discuss his food heaven and hell, fans will already know that guests of the programme are invited to share their favourite dish and their not so favourite dish. Audience members then cast the deciding vote on which plate they will be served.

However, as the guests tucked in, Alfie aired that he was not particularly fond of one main ingredient that Bryn had included in his spring dish, leaving Matt and the chef gobsmacked.
The Les Miserables star confirmed: “I am a huge fan of Italian food, as you know, so any pasta dish. My hell is aubergines, I’ve tried parmigiano and I just think they’re so mushy and unless you dry them out properly they’re just so mushy.”
However, Alfie surprised everyone with his next bombshell revelation, as he admitted: “Courgette as well,” realising what he’d just aired and knowing that Bryn’s spring dish contained the vegetable, the singer quickly retracted: “Sorry about the ratatouille.”

Things turned awkward as Matt turned to Bryn, joking: “Didn’t get that memo, did we?” to which the TV cook confirmed: “No we didn’t!”
It was too late to switch up the dish and so Bryn cracked on with the lamb, taking it over to Alfie to still sample when it was hot on the plate.
Much to everyone’s surprise, Alfie tucked in and with a smile on his face told the chef: “Amazing, wonderful, you’ve won me over on the courgette’s actually.”
Meanwhile, later on in the programme there were further apologies aired (Image: BBC)
Meanwhile, later on in the programme there were further apologies aired as Matt stepped up to offer up his own delicious food. With it being Rick Stein day tomorrow (Sunday March 2) he wanted to pay homage to the chef by recreating his dish Montpellier Butter.
Instead of using Salmon, he opted for a different fish, Hake, which sometimes has bones in the middle. As Alfie tucked in Matt could see something wasn’t right. He asked him: “Did you just take a mouthful of bones.”
The West End star confirmed: “I did,” as Matt embarrassingly said: “Sorry about that I should have said be careful there are bones in that.”
Alfie made light of the situation, laughing: “That’s ok, I only have to sing with the choir at the end.”
Saturday Kitchen airs each Saturday, on One, from 10am.
