revealed how he was inspired to lose weight by his son’s computer app. The popular comedian, who quipped about once injuring himself while reaching for food in the fridge, recounted the revealing moment during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

He disclosed: “I’ve had lots of clues over the years that perhaps I should lose weight, but something happened in December which finally made me want to do it. My son has an app called Akinator the Genie that guesses the famous people you’re thinking of by asking questions, so for egotistical reasons I thought, while my son was at school, I’d see if I was on it.”

Describing the encounter with digital destiny, McIntyre said: “It started asking questions like ‘Is it a man?’ and ‘Is he American?’ and it narrowed it down to a British comedian with dark hair and I’m getting a little excited wondering if it’s me in the game and then it asks ‘Is he slightly overweight?’ so I had a moment of truth, took a deep breath and put in ‘Yes’ and it said ‘Is it Michael McIntyre?’ So I haven’t eaten since then.”

Jonathan Ross couldn’t help but comment on Michael’s remarkable weight loss, according to information from the Daily Record.

Jonathan couldn’t help but rib Michael over his transformed appearance quizzing: “You don’t eat at the moment, do you? You look like you’ve lost so much weight.”, reports .

To which Michael humorously hit back: “Thank you Jonathan but you’ve got things under control. You’ve yo-yo’d over years.”

Jonathan admitted his own weight fluctuations saying: “I yo-yo all the time but guess what? I did two days of exercise this week. I did the plank for nearly 40 seconds.”

The audience cheered on as Jonathan proudly took a bow, while Michael jested: “40 seconds? That’s not very long.”

Michael went to extreme lengths to lose weight, and even previously went to £4k per week weight loss clinic, which he described as a week of nothing but “pain”.

He’d also travelled to Austria in 2017 with fellow comic Paul Tonkinson but hadn’t been able to continue at the clinic for longer than six days. His bid to lose weight at the Mayr Clinic had worked, with 14lb dropping off the TV star during his time there – but he admitted he went through total misery.
