With pancake day fast approaching, you may be looking for some unique twists to the traditional pancake .
And while one way to mix it up is to opt for some different toppings, there are a number of other ways to diverge from the usual pancake dish.
One has been shared on by baking influencer Cathryn Laura Wood, who posted a video showing her rather unique pancake spaghetti, which she topped with strawberries and yoghurt.
Other users of the video-sharing app were quick to comment, with one writing: “This is a strange concept however I am intruiged hahah,” to which Cathryn replied: “I saw it and had to try it [two laughing emojis] works so well but I need it with chocolate sauce and chocolates instead of yogurt and fruit.”
Another fan labelled the pancake spaghetti “so cute”, and a third simply shared: “Ooh not sure about this but going to give it a go!”

Pancake Spaghetti
Ingredients
- 135g of plain flour
- Two tbsp of caster sugar
- 200ml milk
- One large egg
- Your choice of toppings – while Cathryn uses yoghurt and strawberries in her video, she also recommends trying chocolate sauce. Other options include the traditional lemon and sugar or maple syrup.
Method
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, milk and egg, stirring until you have a smooth batter.

The batter needs to be quite thick but still pipeable – similar to the consistency of water icing. Put the batter into a piping tube before moving onto the next steps.
Heat a pan on the hob and pipe the batter into a spiral, cooking for a second or so on each side. Sharing how she flipped these, Cathryn remarked that it was rather difficult before adding: “But it cooks through anyway, so I just turned it over and flipped each bit over to the other side.”
Once cooked just plate up and serve with your choice of toppings.
