A woman has been left gobsmacked by the sunbed wars while on recently – and how early people get up to grab the best spot.
Securing that prime lounger spot – ideally near the pool, basking in the sunshine and close enough to keep the family together – is a common struggle during resort stays. At popular holiday destinations and family resorts, this is particularly true during the summer peak.
One mum, known as Mrs May, took her family on a trip to recently with her three children. The family stayed at five star Serry Beach Resort in Hurghad. But it seems, even if you book a luxury resort, guests will still have to battle with .
The mum, who shares her workouts, travel tips and parenting tips on her page , shared how stunned she was by how early people put their towels out at the pool. But, she didn’t want to miss out and said: “If you can’t beat them, join them.”

Mrs May said: “It’s 6.30 in the morning and already, look, most of these sun loungers have been taken and there’s literally not one person here. But it is pretty beautiful though.”
She added: “Look at the state of me, I have literally set an alarm to come down and try and get us a sun lounger.” She filmed the pool area, which showed many of the front row sun beds were taken.
“I think I’m actually too late already,” the mum confessed. “I am in fact too late, every single sun lounger on that front row has already been taken.”
She decided to settle for the back row. “Kind of annoyed that this happens actually,” she added, noting that some hotels do move them and it is tempting to move other people’s towels while no one was by the pool.

Mrs May’s video raked in 3.7million views, and a flurry of comments as many agreed with her. One person commented, and said: “It actually ruins the holiday, I don’t understand why hotels don’t accomodate every guest with a lounger. There should be a booking system or something.”
One person offered a smart suggestion, and said: “I think every room sould have assigneed lounge beds. You are paying per person for your hotel room so every guest should have one.” One other shared: “I went to a hotel that had a booking sysem. When you arrive, you’d choose where to go and that’d be your loungers for your entire stay.”
Others admitted having no shame about moving other guests’ towels. One individual wrote: “This is such a silly concept to me. I’d simply move the towel and sit where I wanted to if no one was there.”
“Move the towels babe, you got there first,” said another.
One other added: “On my last holiday, if beds were not used for an hour, the staff moved the towels…it worked.”
