Gladiators’ official social media has been abuzz with the announcement of a second new Gladiator, Hammer, who is set to make his debut on the show tonight, March 1.
The series had promised fans at the beginning of the year that two fresh faces would join the lineup, and after meeting 23-year-old Irish Powerlifter Cyclone, anticipation has been high for the next reveal.
Hammer, a World Rowing Champion, was teased in an video, with the caption hyping up his arrival: “Get ready for impact! Hammer is stepping into the arena! Watch his debut TONIGHT at 5:45 PM on One and iPlayer. #Gladiators #iPlayer.”
Fans have taken to the comments section under the post to express their excitement, with one fan exclaiming: “Well it’s about time! Hammer time.”

Another added, “Finally, the other new gladiator is making his debut, and someone I know also says it’s Hammer time.”, reports .
While one viewer voiced disappointment at the timing of the introduction, arguing it was late to debut him in the series, others drew comparisons between Hammer and Thor, the Norse God of strength, lightening and thunder.
They commented: “This new gladiator seems to be based on Thor going by the Hammer,” and another fan hinting, “Thor is that you? If you know, you know.”

At 32-years-old and 6ft 5 inches tall, World Rowing Champion Hammer is set to become a formidable force to be reckoned with as he officially joins the lineup. He attributes his superior strength and speed to his height, giving him an edge over his opponents.
In a statement before his arrival on the show, Hammer confidently declared: “When you’ve got 19 stone sprinting at you, you’ve got no chance. I’m getting you.”
The second season of Gladiators premiered on screens in mid-January 2025, with Bradley and Barney Walsh both reprising their hosting roles.
