For the past ten years, he has been crafting Yorkshire Pudding-themed costumes for his sons, inspired by a fictional superhero they created together.
One of his recent creations took the internet by storm when his 13-year-old son Aaron wore it for Halloween. The costume – which was made from more than 350 Yorkshire puddings and took around five hours to construct – has been recognized by brands like Lidl and Aunt Bessie’s.
James sprays the baked puddings with lacquer to make sure they last longer, though he’s recently experimented with rubber paint to extend their lifespan.
He explained: “We make the puddings fresh each year, and I spray them with a lacquer to make sure they last. You can’t take yourself too seriously in life, and people seem to be loving what we’re doing.”
