The 2025 were off to a head-turning start as stars and nominees took to the Mastercard red carpet at London’s
With Jack Whitehall returning to host and Sabrina Carpenter among the star-studded line up of performers, the place is abuzz with anticipation.
While full-train dresses seem to be a staple of the evening, some stars sadly missed the mark with their ensembles – including a truly baffling outfit made entirely of children’s toys from Teddy Swims.
We take a look at the five best and worst dressed of the night so far.
It can only get better from here, right?
Best – Sabrina Carpenter

Global music sensation and Espresso hitmaker Sabrina Carpenter once again served up an iconic look in a pastel pink gown fringed with lace and frills.
The blush pink piece fell into a long train behind the famously five foot songstress, featuring a halter-neck and tight bodice with ruffles exploding outwards.
Sabrina eased her blonde tresses into perfect curls before walking the red carpet ahead of her live performance.
Worst – Kara Marni

Kara Marni caught the wrong kind of attention when she turned up on the red carpet in nothing but a low-slung skirt and a leather band for a bra.
The R&B star fashioned a leather belt complete with gold studs around her chest, held together with a risky buckle, and added an elegant black silk skirt with a short train that covered her feet.
With her brunette hair tossed behind her, Kara added a pair of glitzy gold earrings to accentuate the bold look – leaving her tummy entirely bare to the bracing UK weather.
Best – Ashley Roberts

Pussycat Dolls songstress Ashley Roberts wowed the crowd with a cut-out gold gown covered in sequins, falling into a train that trailed behind her on the red carpet.
Going braless under the glittery ensemble, Ashley’s gown featured a bold cut-out section at the front before falling to hug her hips and thighs.
She slicked her blonde hair back in a wet-look style and went with a low-key make-up look for the awards ceremony appearance.
Worst – Sam Ryder

Eurovision star Sam Ryder may have launched himself into the global stratosphere with his hit Space Man, which took second place at the Eurovision Song Contest, but his Brit Awards outfit just wasn’t up to par for the fashionista.
Sam opted for a double denim look as he attended the red carpet, matching pale blue jeans with an oversized denim jacket and a white vest top underneath. He finished things off with a black leather belt and let his strawberry blonde hair hang loose to his shoulders.
Sam ensured his tattoos were on full display for the photoshoot, but his camel-coloured shoes couldn’t save the outfit and he sadly looked like a builder turning up to the wrong gig.
Best – Arielle Free

Arielle Free turned up to the ceremony in a stunning black lace gown, cutting off mid-thigh and complete with huge puff sleeves that added a bold element to her outfit.
The star added chandelier earrings and a wet-look hairdo, while her gown flowed into a floral neckline with see-through panels over her arms and tummy, while retaining her modesty with a black band across the chest.
The Scottish DJ looked incredible as she strutted her stuff on the red carpet.
Worst – Teddy Swims

Appearing in one of the most bizarre outfits in Brit Awards history, Teddy Swims rocked up to the carpet… covered in children’s toys.
The star was covered from head to toe in plush animals, including a shark, a lime green teddy bear and a penguin. A pair of lime green shoes and black trousers completed the look, while he slipped on a pair of round shades and posed for the camera.
Fans were divided, with one branding the ‘fit “iconic and wholesome” while others thought it was downright odd.
Best – Zara McDermott

Love Island star Zara McDermott wowed fans with an angelic look at the Brits, opting for a fluffy white dress featuring a thigh-high split up one leg.
Replete with feathers fringing a long train, the gown rose into a halter-neck and featured a sculpted corset-style body, which Zara paired with silk white stiletto heels.
She swept her blonde hair up into an elegant up-do for the occasion, opting to leave a jacket at home as she braved the chill in her sleeveless number.
Worst – Sian Welby

This Morning presenter Sian Welby served a very rare miss at the Brits with her Gladiator-inspired chest piece.
The ITV presenter opted for a slashed mermaid-tail skirt in metallic silver, which rose into a reflective one-shouldered body piece which simultaneously appeared to be constructed from aluminium foil and hard plastic.
Though she looked radiant as ever with her blonde hair left to fall loose and delicate silver bracelets adorning her wrists, Sian’s dress reflected the red carpet as she walked along it – leaving her to blend in with the Mastercard branding around her.
Best – Whitney Adebayo

A rare example of a bold gown fully paying off, Love Islander Whitney Adebayo had heads turning as she showed up to the Brits in a stunning lilac gown seemingly made up of intricate net pieces.
From a tight body-piece, the dress swirled out into intricate plumes of fabric, even forming a loose hood over Whitney’s brunette locks. The effect left her legs mostly bare but for a pair of peep-toe sandals.
She paired the extravagant look with a pair of gold earrings and a nude make-up look which definitely made her shine.
Worst – CMAT

CMAT – real name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson – opted to make a statement on the red carpet with a faux fur coat and thigh-skimming dress – with a bra bursting out of the top.
Leaving several buttons undone on the gold-and-black patterned gown, CMAT left her bold black bra on display, with halter-neck straps tied loosely around her shoulders.
Finishing things off with a pair of glitzy gold kitten heels and a chunky gold necklace, the star arranged her red hair into a half-up, half-down ‘do with huge gold hoop earrings – but the result looked as though she’d walked out of the charity shop with a dress in the wrong size.
