Cesc Fabregas could be the obvious candidate to replace when the boss eventually leaves. Fabregas has guided Como into mid-table in Serie A and has been described as a future manager by an AC Milan icon.
Arteta seems unlikely to leave any time soon. He has built one of the Gunners’ best teams since their Invincibles squad of 2003-04. The Spaniard has challenged for the Premier League title in consecutive seasons and lifted the FA Cup in 2020.
But if navigate next season without a trophy, there could be growing calls for a change in the hot seat. A very small minority of fans already fear he has taken the club as far as possible.
took a risk on an inexperienced coach in Arteta after sacking Unai Emery in 2019. If they choose to adopt the same recruitment policy when they appoint their next boss, Fabregas could be a good choice.
Like Arteta, Fabregas is a former captain and is building a reputation as one of Europe’s most highly rated young coaches. The 37-year-old was part of the coaching staff as Como won promotion to Serie A last season and he was made head coach last summer.
Como now sit comfortably in mid-table and former Milan star Massimo Ambrosini believes Fabregas is a future Premier League manager. He has compared the former Spain international with boss .
“Is Cesc Fabregas a future Premier League manager? Why not! You can see that he loves his team to play in a certain way and I think he is a lot like ,” Ambrosini told Bet365.
“He is a young coach and he has a certain way of playing football. The problem in Italy is that you have to combine your style of play with getting results, when you train a team like Como you don’t need to play a certain way you just need to get results.

“It’s probably about finding the balance between these two situations, being a coach at the bottom of the table in your first season isn’t going to be good for you.
“I think a good coach can understand that the results are more important than playing well, especially in the first year of your career.”
With Arteta’s job extremely safe, it is unlikely that will be appointing a new head coach any time soon. But Fabregas would certainly be an exciting hire.
