Lots of people wonder what it’s like to live abroad.
After all, many dream of soaking up sun and being able to spend their spare time relaxing by the pool. But it’s normal to wonder if the fantasy actually matches up to the reality.
One woman recently gave insight into this as she shared how much a shop costs when you live in . Geo, known as geoinspain on , often documents her life as a Brit living abroad – and a recent video has left people stunned.
She told people what many common items cost her, inclding some dish washer tablets which came in at €5.95. This works out at £4.91.
Geo also picked up a packet of four bagels, which were priced at €4.50. This equates to £3.71.
Don’t miss…
Since she’s been living in Spain, she admitted she hasn’t been buying dairy milk. Her almond alternative came in at €1.25, which works out as £1.03.
Geo also managed to bag four apples for €1.50, which is equivalent to £1.24. As well as this, she bagged a litre of juice for €1, which works out at 83p.
She also picked up several other items, which she talks about in the video. Although, she did give some good advice too.
When it comes to fruit and vegetables, Geo claims it’s “much better” to go to a fruit and vegetable shop to pick up what you want. According to her, it’s the better thing to do if shopping in Spain.
In the video, Geo admitted she’s quite “out of touch” with UK prices, so she doesn’t know how they compare. She wanted people to get in touch and let her know.
The video has been viewed dozens of times since it was shared, and people were quick to comment too. They had all sorts of different ideas.
One person said: “Definitely cheaper than the UK.” Another added: “I haven’t been to England for four or five years. I have no idea what the prices are like over there. I think chicken is expensive, but I don’t know what it is in England to compare.”
A third replied: “Think about the salaries there too.” Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “I go to the markets for fresh fruit and veg.
“Supermarkets tend to be more expensive. Just bought some blueberries today – €8.50. Nearly dropped to the floor.”
