has posted a devastating tribute to the late one year after his death. The Hairy Bikers star posted a statement online precisely one year after Dave lost his battle with cancer.
In an post, the TV cook said: “Hello everybody, I’m just in the middle of rehearsing for An Evening With Si King.
“I wanted to mark the day of the 28th of February, which is a year since my best friend died, and it’s very odd being in rehearsals without him. I miss you every day brother, and I hope you’re at peace.”
He also wrote a separate post showing a photo of the pair laughing and hugging. Si wrote, “One year ago, we lost my incredible friend.
“He’ll never be far from our thoughts and I’m so proud that the legacy of the Hairy Bikers lives on through all the amazing projects and programmes we have been lucky to be involved in.”

Si has launched several touching memorial events to honour Dave over the last year. During the summer of 2024, he created Dave Day, where thousands of people participated in a charity motorbike ride.
The ride, led by Si, departed from North London and reached Dave’s hometown of Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria. The riders are estimated to have covered over 300 miles in Dave’s memory.
It was confirmed on February 28 last year that at the age of 66. Dave was best known for being one of the and fronted numerous television shows alongside Si King.

Si wrote online in a statement confirming Dave’s death in February 2024: “Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years.
“Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home.”
He added: “All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.”
