A self-confessed “monster” has been jailed after beating a top chef and Gordon Ramsay protégé to death in the street.

Omar Wilson, 31, headbutted and kicked Mussie Imnetu, 41, outside Dr Power restaurant in West London. The charity worker also punched his victim five times in the head.

CCTV footage then captured him heading to the Ministry of Sound nightclub, where he told a friend he had “crossed the line”.

He said: “There’s a monster in me, man, and it’s just like sometimes it comes out. And I think I’ve messed up now, I’ve messed up, everything’s finished … Can’t lie. I did the hands ting [sic] and I think it’s a manslaughter.”

He received a life sentence with a minimum of 18 years following a trial at the Old Bailey.

Judge Philip Katz said: “The footage was deeply shocking to watch; Mussie was defenceless on the ground when you punched him and kicked him to death.”

The incident occurred on August 26 last year during the Notting Hill Carnival after Musie left Dover Street in Mayfair at around 1pm.

He then arrived at Dr Power in West London at around 10.30pm.

CCTV captured Wilson heatbutting and punching the chef, causing him to die in hospital of a brain bleed four days later.

The artery running from his head to neck was also torn, the court heard.

Wilson fled but officers recovered his DNA from sunglasses left at the scene.

He claimed he was acting in self defence after Mussie was “harassing” girls.

However, after seeing the footage of the attack, he said it “seems excessive now” and was “f***ing disgusting”.
