Jenna Bush Hager Reveals Why She Hasn’t Been Wearing Her Wedding Ring

Jenna Bush Hager knows you know that a certain piece of jewelry has been suspiciously absent from her left ring finger.

On Wednesday’s episode of “Today with Jenna & Friends,” Bush Hager addressed online speculation about her missing wedding ring.

“I’m not wearing one now because I broke my finger, but don’t worry, I’ve seen some of the comments, Henry and I are still very happily married,” she said, referring to her husband, Henry Chase Hager.

Bush Hager went on to admit that this is by no means the first time she’s had some ring drama — and that she accidentally lost a pretty pricey stone that was on her engagement ring, which used to belong to her husband’s grandmother.

She explained that, in 2022, when her colleague, Savannah Guthrie, threw herself a 50th birthday, Bush Hager felt she had to “give it my all” at the bash since she and Guthrie are so close. But it seems that her husband wasn’t as into the idea of partying as hard as Bush Hager, so he left the event before her and was a bit “grumpy” about it.

The next morning, however, Bush Hager realized that she probably should have left a bit earlier with her husband.

“I woke up the next morning, I look down at my engagement ring, and one of the stones was gone,” she said.

“I was already a little bit on thin ice from my wild behavior,” she continued. “So I looked down and I’m like, ‘Oh no, do I tell him this now or do I wait?’ I went ahead and said, ‘Honey, you know, I know I lost a little bit of dignity last night. I also lost your grandmother’s sapphire.’”

Luckily, Hager was pretty forgiving.

“He’s a tolerant person,” Bush Hager said. “My mom calls him a ‘saint,’ which is really just saying that I’m difficult to be with. But anyway, I never found it again.”

This isn’t the first time Bush Hager has had an incident with her engagement ring. During an episode of “Today” last year, she recalled losing the ring at the John F. Kennedy International Airport on the way to a photoshoot, per Brides.

Bush Hager explained that she was rushing from the airport and that she had packed all of her jewelry in a bag, including her engagement ring. However, when she got to the shoot, she looked for the bag — and it was missing.

“I was stressed. I get to the shoot and I’m looking around,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Oh no, I had a whole bag of jewelry.’”

When a member of the “Today” show’s security team contacted the airport, they found out that the ring had been discovered and turned in.

“Some lovely man who I’ve never met returned it to security,” Bush Hager said before admitting that she didn’t tell her husband about the blunder. “I couldn’t even tell Henry because if I lost our engagement ring, it’s priceless. So, I harbored a secret from Henry, too, which was hard.”
