ITV This Morning’s Dave Fishwick shares major Oscars 2025 concern

Ahead of this weekend’s anticipated Oscars ceremony, TV host Dave Fishwick has expressed trepidation.

Gracing This Morning’s screen on Friday (February 28), the Bank of Dave star broadcasted directly from the famed red carpet in Los Angeles. With merely 48 hours until ‘s gala of the year, where stars arrive for a lavish night of accolades and merriment, the venue appears surprisingly incomplete.

Offering viewers a sneak peek, Dave revealed, “Let me into a secret with you. There’s 48 hours to go, and they’ve still got all the plastic on the red carpet.”

As he navigated through the Dolby Theatre flanked by idle ladders and timber, Dave reassured viewers that the venue would be ready in time, stating: “We’ve still got all the things that need to happen, and they’ve promised me that it’s all going to be ready.”

Dave also disclosed an enchanting evening spent with his wife at Skybar, famed for its Oscar viewing parties, saying: “Me and Mrs F were there and we had a few swift halfs. It was fantastic, and they knew who we were, which was brilliant!” reports .

Maximising his stateside trip, Dave received an esteemed invite to ‘s legendary Oscars soiree, a fundraiser for the AIDS Foundation.

Amazed, Dave shared: “We just can’t believe it… There’s gonna be a few drinks, and then we’re gonna be watching the Oscars… We’re living the dream.”

Hosting duties for this year’s Oscars have been passed to acclaimed comedian and late-night host Conan O’Brien, marking his inaugural time at the helm.

A plethora of films across 23 categories are vying for recognition, with the list of nominees spanning from historical drama The Brutalist to the musical sensation, Wicked.

Leading the pack is the crime musical Emilia Perez, boasting an impressive 13 nominations. Hot on its heels are The Brutalist and Wicked, each securing 10 nods.

Wicked’s leading ladies, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, have been nominated for best actress and supporting actress, respectively.

The contenders for Best Picture include Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Perez, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance and Wicked.

The 97th Academy Awards will air on Sunday, March 2 from 10.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
