Escape to the Country’s Steve Brown was left astounded during a recent episode of the programme with guest Lisa’s unexpected response during a £1m house search.
Presenter Steve was guiding artist Lisa and her daughter Natalia through a range of opulent West Yorkshire properties on Friday (February 28), looking for a detached home with sufficient space for at least four bedrooms and a studio to fuel her artistic pursuits.
As they toured Steve’s selected homes, Lisa and her daughter were captivated by the luxurious offerings. Despite some reservations about the idea of living in a barn conversion, Lisa had a change of heart upon seeing the last property on the list.
After a delighted Lisa exclaimed, “And you apologised for this. What, are you nuts?” a cheerful Steve admitted his earlier concern, saying, “Alright, I’ll take that. But I was scared!
“You said you don’t like conversions and that’s why this is the mystery house.”

It was revealed that Lisa hadn’t grasped what a barn conversion entailed, having pictured a basic barn crammed with furniture into one space, reports .
Later in the programme, Lisa confessed that the enigmatic property had completely captivated her, to the point where she was ready to consider making an offer. Steve was clearly taken by her boldness, remarking: “Oh, I’m so pleased to hear that. I’m so pleased for you! Good luck! Really good luck, you’re a brave lady.”

As the episode wrapped up, Steve updated the audience on Lisa’s progress, revealing that she did indeed go back for a second look at the mystery house, this time accompanied by more family members.
Additionally, the sale of her North London home was moving forward, indicating that Lisa might soon be heading towards a new chapter.
