The confirmed the fatality in the Lisnahull area of Dungannon, after being called to the area just after 8pm on Thursday evening. Officers discovered a severely injured individual inside the apartment in County Tyrone, though the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Despite the efforts of one rapid response paramedic, two emergency crews and an advanced paramedic from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, no one was taken to the after the incident. The nearby Corrainey Park was sealed off for police investigations, with a large cordon in place overnight.
Local councillor Deirdre Varsani said: “It is upsetting for people here. This is such a tight-knit area and it does impact on a lot of people and unnerves a lot of people as well.

Varsani highlighted the local’s shock and respect for the prompt action of first responders: “Everybody is very concerned, but there has been a very high level of co-operation with the emergency services.” She added, “People are just shocked. Everybody knows someone who lives here.
“The emergency services response has been exemplary.”
Adding to the community leaders’ voices was SDLP Mid Ulster councillor Malachy Quinn, who shared his sorrow over social media: “Sad news coming out of Dungannon tonight.” He also requested the public’s cooperation: “I would urge people to avoid the area tonight.”
Detective Chief Inspector Phillips said: “Shortly after 8pm, it was reported that a man was found with serious injuries at a flat in the area. Police attended, but sadly the man passed away as a result of his injuries.
“The Corrainey Park is currently closed as officers conduct further enquiries in the area.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and police would appeal to anyone with any information to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1576 27/02/25.
