The 52-year-old actress was previously in a relationship with star Martin Freeman, best known for his roles in The Hobbit, The Office and Love Actually.

The couple had been together for 16 years and had two children; however, they called it quits in 2016. reported at the time that Amanda kept her split a secret for “six months” and said that she “couldn’t live with him anymore.”
Martin and Amanda worked alongside together as Mary and John Watson in the detective thriller series Sherlock. She also said that Martin is a “great guy” and that they still keep in touch.

The English actress has since found love again with retired stuntman Jonathan Goodwin. According to the couple met online via Twitter in 2012.

Amanda said: “We were both in relationships at the time, but we admired each other’s work and occasionally liked each other’s tweets.”
After her split from Martin, the duo grew closer, and it wasn’t until August 2021 that they realized that they shared a deeper connection. Following months of speaking online, they both met for the first time in Vienna, and after 30 minutes, Jonathan asked Amanda to marry him.
They enjoyed a 48-hour first date before Jonathan had to fly home, but they were so in love that he flew out to the UK to meet her family two weeks later.
Not long after their engagement, tragedy struck as Jonathan was involved in a life-changing accident during a stunt rehearsal in Atlanta. He was paralysed from the waist down and had to undergo spinal surgery.
Against all the odds, Amanda and Jonathan have continued to keep their relationship strong and now live together in Hertfordshire. They made their first TV appearance as a couple on Loose Women in 2022.
