Who is in the cast of House of David as epic new series arrives on Prime Video

Prime Video’s latest epic, House of David, boasts a cast that blends emerging talent with familiar faces from acrsos British TV and international films. The first three episodes will debut on Thursday, February 27, with the remaining instalments released weekly thereafter.

This eight-part saga traces the life of David (Michael Iskander), who ascends to become ‘s most revered king after the reigning monarch, King Saul (Ali Suliman), falls victim to his own hubris. Guided by God, the prophet Samuel (Stephen Lang) anoints David—a solitary, marginalised teenager—as the successor to the throne.

As David’s star rises, King Saul’s hold on his kingdom progressively weakens.

David embarks on a transformative journey, navigating love, loss, and violence within King Saul’s court to evolve into the leader he is destined to be. With its release on Prime Video imminent, here’s a look at the cast of House of David.

Who is in the cast of House of David?

David played by Michael Iskander

Michael Iskander takes on the role of David, a shepherd boy who eventually ascends to the throne and defeats Goliath. the screen debut for newcomer Iskander, fresh from his Tony Award-winning musical Kimberly Akimbo.

Saul played by Ali Suliman

Ali Suliman portrays King Saul, a formidable leader intent on creating a lasting legacy, but who gradually loses control over his kingdom. Audiences may recognise him as Khaled from the film Paradise Now and Mousa bin Suleiman in the TV series Jack Ryan.

He has also graced the screen in Lone Survivor, Rattle the Gage, The Swimmers and Arthur The King.

Samuel played by Stephen Lang

Stephen Lang, who plays the prophet Samuel, is known for his roles in Avatar, Public Enemies, The Men Who Stare at Goats, Conan the Barbarian and Don’t Breathe.

In this series, he anoints the outcast teenager as the new king, following God’s directive.

Goliath played by Martyn Ford

Martyn Ford portrays the giant Goliath, a demigod and mythical creature hell-bent on avenging his mother’s death. The audience will witness the epic face-off between David and Goliath, with David using his trusty slingshot to triumph.

Ford, originally a cricketer, transitioned into bodybuilding and acting, featuring in Redcon-1, Viking Destiny, Final Score, The Nevers, Benidorm and The Sandman.

Eliab played by Davood Ghadami

Davood Ghadami, widely recognised for his role as Kush Kazemi in , plays Eliab, David’s eldest brother. Although he should be king, he serves as the strongest and best fighter in Saul’s army.

Ghadami has also appeared in Beyond Paradise, Holby City and Skins.

Ayelet Zurer played by Queen Ahinoam

Ayelet Zurer takes on the role of Queen Ahinoam, King Saul’s wife, described as a power broker operating behind the scenes. An Academy Award winner for Best Actress in , she has also starred in Munich, Vantage Point, Man of Steel, Last Knights, Daredevil and The Best Worst Thing.

Indy Lewis plays Mychal

Mychal, the daughter of Saul and Ahinoam and later David’s first wife, is a key character in the narrative. Indy Lewis, a burgeoning talent on British television, has been cast in this role.

Her most notable performance to date was as Venetia Berens in the HBO series Industry, and she has also appeared in Lo Fortuna and King and Conqueror.
