Shane Lowry has chimed in on US captain Keegan Bradley’s impassioned Ryder Cup speech, remarking: “Oh yeah. We’ve all seen it.”

The American leader’s rousing words were captured on camera during the festivities of last year’s Presidents Cup and have since featured in ‘s new Full Swing series. Bradley, who clinched the 2011 US PGA title and was an unexpected choice to captain the US side in New York, rallied his teammates with a bold declaration: “We are gonna go to Bethpage to kick their ******* ass.”

This expletive-laden battle cry became a hot topic in the lead-up to the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches, which tees off on Thursday.

When quizzed about the viral clip, Lowry responded with a grin, saying: “Oh yeah. We’ve all seen it.”

He later elaborated to Golf Channel’s Golf Today: “Obviously, I saw it. Look, they’re going to be fired up to go beat us. Keegan is going to be a great captain, and we’re under no illusion that [he won’t be]; we’re certainly not going to doubt him. And I’m sure Luke Donald is going to prepare his team as best he can, and we’ll give it a go when it comes to it.”

Adding to the conversation, vice-captain and 2018 Ryder Cup hero Francesco Molinari downplayed the incident, stating: “It’s not a big deal. Those things happen all the time. I can understand why Keegan did it. We love to win. They love to win. What Keegan said, was not out of bounds.”

Donald’s European squad reclaimed the Ryder Cup with an emphatic 16.5-11.5 victory in Rome back in September 2023. His side will have a mammoth task on their hands to retain the cup, as there’s been only one away win in the event since 2004- the Miracle in Medinah back in 2012.

The atmosphere at the Ryder Cups in Hazeltine and Whistling Straits was electric, and it’s set to reach fever pitch at Bethpage Black on Long Island. The intensity boiled over recently in Rome when Rory McIlroy had a heated exchange with Patrick Cantlay’s caddie on the final green on Saturday, an altercation that escalated in the car park, requiring Lowry to diffuse the situation.

Meanwhile, Bradley has signalled his intent to harness the passionate home support following the US team’s 10th straight victory against the International Team in Montreal at the Presidents Cup.

The world No.15 delivered a standout performance, sinking a crucial long putt to win his match on the first day and clinching the decisive point on Sunday. In a fiery speech, Bradley revealed the drive he plans to bring as the US captain this September: “I’m gonna get criticised as the captain next year,” he declared.

“They’re gonna underestimate me. They’re going to doubt me. I’ve been doubted my whole ******* life. That’s when I do my best work. We are gonna go to Bethpage to kick their ******* ass.”
