has broken his silence on social media since his son, Sean, entered rehab. The 44-year-old checked into Cliffside Malibu rehab on Tuesday after his family reportedly stepped in to help him.

The 80 year old rock singer posted on his official story about performing at the Festival d’ete de Quebec, Canada’s second-largest music festival. He wrote, “Quebec City, I am playing @festivaleteqc passes are on sale now.”

Sean, one of Rod’s eight children, has now shared that he’s seeking treatment not because of addiction issues but due to long-standing childhood problems and a neurodiverse condition.

In an emotional revelation to MailOnline, Sean spoke candidly about his battles with ADHD and dyslexia from a young age, which led to hurtful nicknames like “Stupid Stewart.”

He described the experience as “painful” and explained that he’s been grappling with these challenges for “decades.

“I am here to deal with the pain that I had in my childhood that stemmed from suffering from ADHD and an overall feeling that I can’t succeed in life. I am in therapy now, I am focusing on working through the problems,” he disclosed, reports .

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, commonly known as ADHD, is characterised by symptoms such as inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.

Despite his successful career in television and business, Sean confesses he’s always battled feelings of inadequacy. “Just because I have struggled with ADHD and dyslexia does not mean that I cannot have a successful life, and I am learning how to cope with it now,” he remarked.

Sean acknowledges he’s “grateful” for the opportunity to step back from his business to improve himself for his loved ones. “I am dealing with the pain so I can be a more self-confident man,” he stated, expressing his hope to one day become a father and believing that his time in the facility will help him grow as a person.

Even though his family has been involved, an insider insisted that Sean “voluntarily checked in” of his own volition, adding: “Rod is proud of him for getting help. He is expected to do a 90 day stay, which is the norm.”

The rehab centre, which describes itself as “luxury” on its website, aims to make its residents feel like they are staying in a high-end boutique hotel.

Sean’s treatment at Cliffside Malibu follows his first stint in rehab when he was just 19, after which he tragically overdosed. The reality TV star has since returned to rehab several times, and previously disclosed how his struggle with drugs began during his high school years in California.

“I would go to parties at that age and drink and smoke cannabis and cigarettes. It was very easy for me to get drugs.

“I would just walk into a party and someone would hand them to me. I hardly ever paid for them. First, I got really badly into ecstasy. Then I started on the prescription pills like Vicodin, and then cocaine. And finally I got into heroin.”
