Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, 63, were found dead Wednesday in their Santa Fe, New Mexico, home, authorities confirmed to HuffPost.
The couple’s dog was also discovered dead.
“Foul play is not suspected as a factor in those deaths at this time however exact cause of death has not been determined,” Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Denise Avila said via email.
The couple and their pet were discovered during a welfare check at the home around 1:45 p.m., per Avila.
“This is an active and ongoing investigation by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office,” Avila added.
Two-time Academy Award winner Hackman and Arakawa tied the knot in 1991.
