The Italian got off to a flying start in charge of the west London outfit, with having been mentioned alongside champions-elect as potential title challengers in the first half of the campaign.
Things have been much different for since Christmas though, with since December 15.
It was a welcome boost for Maresca, who on the back of consecutive league defeats had started to come under pressure.
have put themselves back in the Champions League qualification picture, having endured a two-year hiatus from the competition.
Regardless of whether they finish inside the top four – or top five depending on the Premier League coefficient – it’s expected Maresca will be backed in the summer transfer window.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano explained: “ really trust and he’s involved in the summer transfer window planning.
“Positions want to strengthen include centre back, striker, left winger and probably a new midfielder.”

It means Maresca could welcome four new signings through the door ahead of next season.
However, it’s unlikely missing out on the top four will do much to quell the noise around his and Boehly’s tenures, such were the demands from some fans at a protest outside Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
Commenting after the Southampton victory, Maresca urged patience among the faithful, despite the backlash.
He said: “The only thing I can say is that in this moment the fans have to trust.
“We’re in the right process and the right direction. Since we started we’ve been top four most games of the season.

“The fans have to trust the players. They are doing a huge effort every day to bring this club to the Champions League.”
The two-time winners last qualified for the Champions League in 2021/22, with having spent the following two seasons outside of the Premier League’s top four.
Their pursuit of Champions League football has been put on the backburner for now though, with the capital club afforded a rare weekend off following their exit from the FA Cup.
Instead, next up for Maresca and co. is a trip to the Danish capital for next week’s Conference League last-16 clash against FC Copenhagen.
The winners of that competition will earn direct qualification into next year’s Europa League.
