Donald Trump’s former director of communications has claimed the president is “unwell”, before warning that should be careful when he meets him for crucial talks today.
Anthony Scaramucci, 61, was a supporter of Trump in the build-up to, and early days, of his Presidency before leaving the White House and becoming a prominent critic.
In the years following Trump’s first and second term, Scaramucci has warned of the damage the 78-year-old could do if he returned to power.
Following Trump’s return to the Oval Office – and a subsequent upending of the transatlantic dynamic between USA and Europe – Scaramucci has warned that Britain’s Prime Minister Sir should be wary of a man he describes as “dangerous”.
Anthony told the ‘Off Air… with Jane and Fi’ podcast: “Trump’s obviously got something wrong with him. I would say to the guy is unwell and he’s surrounded by willing sycophants that want to pretend that he’s not unwell.

“You’ll do yourself and your country a service if you are polite to him and you give him some gratuitous flattering, but you try and stay away from him if you can.
“Don’t get too close to his orbit because he’ll end up eating you. He harms everybody in his path, he’s not well liked, he’s not well liked by his family members, not well liked by his staff, but there they are because he’s a powerful person.
“I just would tell [to] stay away from him because he’s a dangerous guy and in a couple years he’ll burn himself out, the United Kingdom will exist and will be long in our rear view mirror.”
To illustrate how unwell he believes Trump to be, Scaramucci highlighted the recent video posted on the President’s Truth Social platform that featured an AI generated vision of Gaza owned and developed by Trump.

He explained: “I don’t know if you saw that artificial intelligence Trump Gaza video that he posted on his own Truth Social network and so anybody who looks at that, whether you’re a clinical profiler for MI6, or the CIA…
“I mean you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that something’s wrong with Trump. It’s like if someone in British football broke their leg and the bone was sticking out, you don’t have to be an orthopaedic surgeon to know that there’s a broken bone.”
Should Trump choose to respond to Scaramucci’s latest claims, it wouldn’t be the first time the duo got into an online spat. In 2019, relatively fresh from leaving the White House, Trump took to what was then Twitter to attack Scaramucci.
He said: “Anthony Scaramucci, who was quickly terminated (11 days) from a position that he was totally incapable of handling, now seems to do nothing but television as the all time expert on ‘President Trump,’
“Like many other so-called television experts, he knows very little about me other than the fact that this Administration has probably done more than any other Administration in its first 2 ½ years of existence. Anthony, who would do anything to come back in, should remember the only reason he is on TV, and it’s not for being the Mooch!”
Speaking in greater detail about why he left as Trump’s director of communications. In 2020 he claimed to : “Once he attacked my wife, I took the gloves off because you’re not allowed to attack my family members or my wife.
“He knew my wife and I were having marital issues in 2017 and he still went after her on the presidential Twitter feed, so he’s a low life. Once he did that, then I just started eviscerating him.”
