Stephen Colbert Eviscerates Karoline Leavitt’s Trump Team Claim In Bonkers Rant

Stephen Colbert played an unhinged football coach on Tuesday to illustrate that Trump & Co. are not working as a “unified team” ― as press secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed this week. (Watch the video below.)

In his monologue on “The Late Show,” the host summarized President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s confusing stances on an email Musk sent to federal employees ordering them to list their accomplishments for the week, or it will be assumed they are resigning. The email has been met with compliance and defiance, in addition to mixed messaging from Trump and Musk.

Yet Leavitt, Colbert pointed out, insisted that “everyone is working together as one unified team.”

“That is a unified team?” Colbert snapped.

To make his point, the comedian transformed into an addled football coach trying to rally his squad.

“Get out there and do literally the first insane thing that comes to your mind, OK? No bad ideas. Hank, you sit on the ball and try to hatch it like an egg. Timmy, you knit me a scarf out of your own hair. The rest of you, I don’t know, I don’t care. Maybe lay on the grass and act like you’re swimming in it, all right? Surprise me.”

Fast-forward to 3:20 for Colbert’s out-there pep talk:
