Oliver Glasner has pleaded with new boss not to select Adam Wharton for Three Lions duty next month.
Wharton shone for Crystal Palace as they brushed aside Aston Villa with a dominant 4-1 triumph on Tuesday night.
The midfielder completed seven recoveries, won six duels and created three chances for his team-mate during an exemplary all-round performance.
But according to Palace chief Glasner, Tuchel should look elsewhere when it comes to naming his squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking to Radio London, the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt boss said it might not be wise to pick Wharton because of his recent injury record, insisting he will still “play many times for the Three Lions”.
Urging his compatriot to look elsewhere, Glasner said: “Everybody knows what Adam can do – but we have to be patient.
“Since the final of the Euros, he’s struggled – he will get more minutes.
“He will get many games for the Three Lions in his career. I don’t know if this will be the right moment in March after a long injury.

“Give him time, he is a young boy with a great talent. But at the end of the day it will be Thomas Tuchel’s decision.”
Wharton missed the entirety of November, December and January after picking up a groin injury during Palace’s win away to Aston Villa at the end of October.
He returned to action for the victory over at the beginning of the month and started his first game since injury against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Wharton was a member of England’s Euro 2024 squad, but the youngster didn’t feature at all for Gareth Southgate’s side en route to the final in Berlin.

Wharton was awarded the Man of the Match award after the win versus Aston Villa, with the ex-Blackburn Rovers gem telling TNT Sports: “It’s a great win. Obviously the fans were unbelievable tonight, we had to be patient, Villa are a top side.
“We knew if we stuck to the plan, keep the intensity in the game, we’ll get the chances. The big man [Jean-Philippe Mateta] and Ish [Ismaila Sarr] took their chances really well.”
On his return, the 21-year-old added: “The home form hasn’t been the best, but we’re not thinking about that. We’re just going into every game with a clear mind, we know the tactics the gaffer has given us.
“If we stick to the plan we know we’ve got a great chance in every single game we play.”
Crystal Palace return to action on Saturday at home to Millwall in the FA Cup.
