Marking their first visit to the country since October 2023, , 42, and Princess Kate, 43, arrived a little later than scheduled due to train delays.
The couple, who were delayed by almost an hour, travelled to Pontypridd to mark St David’s Day and met people affected by recent flooding. They caught the train to Cardiff before being picked up by cars to reach their engagements.
At the end of their second engagement they had to quickly dash off, with their security team keeping a watchful eye on the time.
“I’m sorry, we’ve got to catch a train,” William told volunteers as they left. “They’re getting a bit panicky!”

Kate and William – who will carry out two engagements during their visit – were greeted by cheering crowds when they arrived at the town’s indoor market where they began their visit by meeting stallholders.
As well as meeting those affected by the flooding, Kate – who was seen sporting her scarlet Alexander McQueen coat – and William also visited Pontypridd Market, which has been at the heart of the community since 1805.
The couple were given a chance to tour the food hall and help prepare and cook a batch of traditional Welsh cakes. William and Kate met Theresa Conner, who is the owner of the Welsh Cake Shop.
As the couple were given the chance to make their own batch of Welsh cakes, William jokingly said, “You’ll have to sell these for half price.”
Shortly before their arrival in Pontypridd, Kensington Palace released a sneak peak of their arrival at Cardiff train station on their social media.

Before they left, the royal couple were stopped to greet the hundreds of wellwishers who had gathered to meet them.
Familiar with Wales, Kate and William lived there for a time before they married and as newlyweds.
The couple, who are now parents to Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, spent several years in Anglesey.
