The Chamber of Secrets may not be the only place where truths are hidden within the hallowed halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Jason Isaacs, the actor renowned for playing the scheming Lucius Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” film series, recently shared a behind-the-scenes secret he’s been holding on to.
While appearing on a Feb. 21 episode of the BBC program “The One Show,” Isaacs got candid about his experience.
“It’s a terrible confession to make: they weren’t that much fun to make,” he admitted, according to Entertainment Weekly. “It’s quite boring making big special effects films; however, the pleasures all come afterward.”

Still, the actor said that a special kind of magic still came over him when he viewed the films with his family.
“Even though I was in the films, when I’ve taken godchildren or nephews and nieces to the [studio tour] and the thing comes up and suddenly you’re in the Great Hall,” the actor said, “every time, I burst out in tears. It’s incredibly moving and overwhelming. There’s some magic that happened in those stories.”
HBO’s announcement that “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling will play a part in the upcoming TV adaptation of the series caused controversy due to Rowling’s vocal anti-transgender views.
In November, the network told Variety and The Wrap that it has “been working with J.K. Rowling” and involved in the “Harry Potter business for more than 20 years.”
“With millions of fans continuing to enjoy movies, games and experiences, we’ve had great success and her contribution has been invaluable,” the statement read.
