skipper has become the latest investor in ‘ TGL golf league, hailing it as “something special” in his newest foray into the sport.

Golf legend and 15-time major winner Woods, along with Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Tom Kim Jupiter, have been instrumental in securing victories for Links GC on the virtual green. With the inaugural TGL season already in full swing, Kane’s team currently sits in fifth place in the SoFi Cup standings.

Joining the likes of popstar Justin Timberlake and baseball icon Mike Trout as investors in Links GC, the ex-Spurs ace expressed his excitement about his new venture, saying: “I’ve always loved golf, and TGL’s new format is something special. I can’t wait to be part of this exciting journey.”

The FC Bayern Munich striker, who boasts a golf handicap of 3.7, recounted his round with Woods in the Bahamas on the Rick Shiels Golf Show: “I was out in the Bahamas, and a golf pro I knew casually said, ‘Oh, by the way, I’m playing with Tiger this afternoon. Want to join?’ It was one of those moments where I just thought, ‘Yeah, of course!’ It’s surreal.”

Kante recalled the experience of hitting it off with Woods, starting with a great shot down the fairway while the golf legend contentedly walked his own path, recovering from injury. The England sensation humbly revealed their initial interaction on the course was minimal: “We didn’t speak much on the course at first, but later we got chatting about family and life.”

The ex- star added: “He asked me to play 18 holes with him the next day, and it was incredible. I didn’t play great, but Tiger shot six-under. I kind of knew before anyone else did that he was back to playing really well!

“I’ve been around a four handicap for a while, but it’s hard to get lower when you don’t have the time to practise. I’m playing maybe once a month or once every six weeks, and that can be frustrating. I’m someone who wants to improve at everything, so having a bad day on the course can be pretty demoralizing.”

He also pointed out the natural transition for footballers to excel in golf, adding: “Soccer (football) players lend themselves to being really good golfers. The hand-eye coordination, the fitness, the strength. And there’s a competitive element too. You want to beat the other players, and it lends itself so nicely to golf.”

Kane is enjoying life in the Bundesliga and has scored 73 goals in 75 appearances for Bayern since leaving Spurs.
