The fashion retailer has entered liquidation after years of losses, which is resulting in the reduction of around 350 jobs.

‘s Irish branch entered liquidation following a High Court ruling – and . A 30-day is underway with the employees affected by the sale.

Bosses said the chain had “undergone several changes to adapt to the current market”, including marketing initiatives, store adaptations, and price range trials.

However, “following a strategic review” of the Irish business, New Look Group concluded that “it was no longer viable to continue trading in Ireland”.

The retailer added: “Given the increasingly volatile trading conditions, we needed to expedite our existing plans, which included a review of our operations in the Republic of Ireland.”

New Look will focus on its UK portfolio to provide customers with fashionable clothing, accessories and footwear.

While there will be a strengthening online presence, New Look does not plan to close any stores in the UK. Customers can still enjoy shopping for bargains at the fashion retailer.

Elsewhere on the high street, competitor Select will shut several stores in March. The iconic fashion chain has just 48 stores left after mass closures, which occurred after it entered administration in 2019.

A shop in Merthyr Tydfil and another in Wellingborough are set to close next month on March 15. Approximately 10 more will follow suit in Hartlepool, Ashington, and Scunthorpe, among other locations, though exact dates are yet to be confirmed.
