Radio has announced the death of host Tim Jibson, who died suddenly yet peacefully at the age of 76.

The obituary shared: “Passed away suddenly but peacefully on Sunday 9th February 2025, aged 76 years, surrounded by his loving family, after the most wonderful day on holiday.” The family has requested a private service and cremation.

The Legendary Radio Humberside icon is known for his memorable chats with music legends like Marc Bolan of T. Rex and country superstar Tammy Wynette. HIs storied career spanning four decades. Beyond his fame, Jibson spun records and news at local stations Beverley FM and Viking FM, leaving a legacy of vibrant radio culture.

Tim’s passing is mourned by his wife, Ann Marie Jibson, and their three children—Michael, Paul, and Lexi Jibson—along with three grandchildren, who remember him as “a good friend to many.”

The family continues his legacy of entertainment; his sons, Michael and Paul, have carved out successful acting careers. Michael snagged an Olivier Award for his role as King George III in Hamilton on London’s West End and shared the screen with his wife, actress Caroline Sheen, in hits like ITV’s Quiz and ‘s Bodies.

The obituary added that Tim will be “reunited with missed family members, but most importantly Brenda and Rose, who he missed ever so dearly.”

Paying tribute, one fan on X said: “My goodness no. This news has hit me harder than I thought it would.”

Another penned: “Terribly sad. Immediate flashback in my mind to my youth and the days of Paull Hunsley.”

A third gushed: “Tim was always so supportive and encouraging. Instantly recognisable voice across E Yorks & N Lincs. RIP Tim.”
