A woman was left in a state of shock after discovering hidden mould in her shower during a deep clean.

Kylie Perkins, a well-known creator and cleaning expert, is renowned for her no-nonsense approach to household chores. She encourages her followers to tackle tasks bit by bit, promoting the development of healthy habits to keep homes tidy without feeling overwhelmed.

After several of her videos went , other users have credited Kylie’s methods with inspiring them to clean often neglected areas of their homes.

One such individual is Emma Jean, who decided to film her own video after being motivated by Kylie’s teachings. However, she was taken aback when she uncovered a significant amount of black mould lurking in her shower.

“When Kylie Perkins influences you and then you find secret mould,” she captioned her video, which shows her scrubbing every inch of her shower.

IT JUST KEPT COMING FROM THE WALL

Donning vibrant pink gloves, she utilises the Pink Stuff paste – a product cleaning enthusiasts are hailing as the ultimate solution – and an electric brush to scrub beneath her elevated shower cubicle. As she moved on to the shower wall, she was taken aback to discover emerging from the crevices of the freshly cleaned edge, prompting a startled reaction.

“Oh my god, I’m gonna throw up,” she exclaimed, before dousing the crevice with more water, causing even more mould to spill out onto the shower floor.

“Ahh going to cry. Where is this coming from?” she questioned, as the video cut to yet more mould appearing. “Oh, there’s more. No, I need to throw away the shower.”

She continues to rinse the edge with the hidden crevice with more water, which once again make more mould appear onto the shower floor.

She continued to rinse the hidden crevice, which only resulted in more mould surfacing. “This is- this is… no, no, no,” she stammered in disbelief, as the mould kept appearing while she rinsed the shower crevice.

“This is just getting to be too much. This is already too much,” she said. “I’m probably dying from mould poisoning. I’m not kidding, I need a different shower immediately. There’s probably more up there too.”

Despite her distress, she persisted in cleaning the rest of her shower, determined to finish the cleaning video she was filming.

In the video description, she wrote: “IT JUST KEPT COMING FROM THE WALL.”

Emma’s initial warning over her shower’s condition was met with a wave of supportive comments from online users offering straightforward solutions.

One user advised: “You just need new caulking love. It’s not mould. But splashing water up in there definitely can cause mould,” providing a simple fix and reassurance.

Meanwhile, another commenter suggested: “It’s likely just mildew and soap build up, not bad mould.”

Nonetheless, some individuals were certain that the culprit was indeed mould—a viewpoint backed by one person’s anecdote: “I have a friend who does showers for a living and I bought a brand new house and this started happening and he said it’s caused by the way that the showers are installed!

“It’s the inside of the wall because these sort of showers aren’t usually sealed perfectly super well. He said you can usually caulk it but over time moisture does get up there and cause mould.”
