Fans of picked up on an annoying habit as they tuned in to a brand new episode of the ITV quiz show this evening. They noted that seemed to be lacking in his normal skill of moving the game along in good time.

The presenter welcomed four new players to take on Paul Sinha as they tested their general knowledge skills in a bid to bag a cash prize. Ash from Essex, Kelsey from North Lanarkshire, Catherine from Solihull and Max from joined forces to take on the Chaser.

The game got off to a good start with Ash adding £6,000 to the prize pot. However, Kelsey then ‘passed’ on a lot of the questions – with her only answering two correctly in the whole game.

Catherine then annoyed fans further as she seemed to be taking an exceptionally long time to answer the questions. Fans picked up on the lengthy silences as they questioned if their television sets were broken as normally Bradley will urge contestants to ‘get a move on’ if they are taking too long.

Picking up on the ‘change’, viewers at home took to social media. Posting to X (formerly Twitter), one questioned: “Can you take as long as want now to press your button? No hurry up from Brad. #TheChase.”

“Is there a longer pause for guesses?? Is it different??? #thechase,” someone else asked.

Another added: “I thought my TV broke from that long silence! #TheChase,” while a third echoed: “I thought my tv broke then. The long silence [crying laughing emoji] #TheChase.”

At the end of the game, Max joined Ash in the final as they played for a grand total of £7,000. They managed to set just nine questions for the Chaser to answer.

Don’t miss… [REACTION]

Paul Sinha said that they had been “overthinking” their answers as fans as home continued to complain about the time taken to provide answers.

The Chaser brutally said: “Unlucky guys, happens under pressure. They were tough questions, but you didn’t really bring us a plan B when you didn’t know the answer or needed an educated guess.

“I don’t want to make fun but tuk-tuk is an amazing example of overthinking the question.” He then went on to beat the two players with one minute and 14 seconds remaining.
