ITV Good Morning Britain viewers all have same complaint as Yvette Cooper gets ‘easy ride’

fans were left up in arms after Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley quizzed Home Secretary Yvette Cooper on the morning show.

During Tuesday’s visit (February 25) to the London studios, the 54-year-old broadcaster returned to the helm with her 68-year-old co-star where they woke up the naiton with the biggest stories hitting the headlines.

This included the call for improvements to be made by tech giants to improve protection from abuse online and the news that police will be given new powers targeting anti-social behaviour for stolen mobile phones.

But it’s fair to say the biggest news on the morning show was the breaking news that energy bills will rise by just over six percent in April under regularor Ofgem’s new cap – a higher-than-expected increase that put pressure on people’s finances.

Later on in the show, the presenting duo welcomed the Secretary of State onto the news programme to quiz her about the latest changes to energy bills all over the country.

However, many viewers were disappointed to the pair’s lack of questions, as she discussed several topics on the tv show. It didn’t take long before fans flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their disappointment online.

One user penned: “Another easy ride for @YvetteCooperMP on @GMB. Not challenged at all about the energy rise. @susannareid100 in labour red so not surprised.”

Another agreed: “@GMB Jesus Christ. You had her there. Why the hell didn’t you question her about the shamed labour MP been sent to jail for just 10 weeks, why is he keeping his salary, when is the by election. It’s #TwoTierJusitce poxy left wing MSM.”

A third chimed in with: “@GMB @LouisaJamesITV Nice fluffy interview with Mrs Balls, no challenges to the unanswered questions.” A fourth fumed: “@GMB Home Secretary given a free ride and the interview turned into a Labour Party propaganda session #LabourOut.”

Meanwhile a fifth echoed: “@GMB come on, hold Ms Cooper to the question. What did she think about the police visiting the GMA re fb (facebook) post!!”.

Another added: “The Home Secretary can’t answer a simple question on public safety, never mind the energy scam price cap #GMB.”
