Now and again we all have to eat on-the-go – especially when we’re travelling.

After all, we all get hungry when we’re waiting for flights, so picking up a snack or a meal is crucial. But one dad recently had a shock when he stocked up on some burgers for his family at a popular airport.

The man, known as travellingdad on , was recently left floored after he bought food at at Antalya Airport, in . He claimed it cost him £83.75 for the meals, which he described as being “poxy”.

He thought the price was “disgusting” as he said the price hikes at the popular destination are getting out of hand. In a video he posted online, he showed people just what he got for his money.

In the clip, he said: “I’m not usually one to moan, but this warrants a video. Get ready for this. So in Antalya Airport, this is what £83.00 gets you. £83.00 gets you two of these – it’s like an envelope. That one, I can’t quite understand what it is, but yeah.”

Don’t miss…

It comes after tourists have spoken out about the price increases in Turkey over the past few months. Some have even claimed the area has become “dead” as inflation is putting tourists off so much.

Since the video was posted online, it’s been viewed over 4,000 times, and thousands of people chimed in to comment too. These sorts of ideas were echoed in the comments.

One said: “Have been to Antalya Airport, super expensive. In fact, Turkey has become very expensive.”

Another wrote: “I’ll never go back to Turkey. It’s a complete rip off now.” A third also replied: “Antalya Airport has gone insane with prices. Went four times last year and watched them shoot up.”

Some people had differing views though. While some pointed out that they like the destination, others didn’t understand why he paid the amount if he wasn’t happy with the price.

One said: “But you still paid, then complained. That’s why people charge these prices knowing they have ‘holiday money’.”

Another wrote: “Sorry, but more fool you for paying it. Went last August, and everyone on was warning everyone about the cost. My family paid just over £100 for McDonalds – two adults, two kids. I went without.”

A third also chimed in with: “Why did you buy it? Not like anyone forced you to pay it. Every airport is expensive – don’t eat at airports and them moan about prices.”

Burger King has been asked to comment about the price of food at the airport.
