Amazon Prime viewers praise ‘must see’ drama which has left fans hooked

has recently added a riveting drama to its roster, leaving viewers utterly engrossed.

The series, titled Accused, is a six-part drama that first aired on the back in 2010. The brainchild of Jimmy McGovern, the show boasts a star-studded cast including Olivia Colman, Stephen Graham, Christopher Eccleston, and Peter Capaldi.

It also features Naomie Harris, Andy Serkis, Anna Maxwell Martin, Sheridan Smith and Mackenzie Crook.

Since landing on Amazon Prime, the series has earned high praise from fans, with many binge-watching the episodes.

One viewer enthused: “I have just found the series Accused and am absolutely hooked, gripping and emotion-stirring. Brilliant.” Another remarked: “I couldn’t stop watching it. The ending was a twist that I did not expect whatsoever.”

Someone else wrote: “Fantastic show. Great acting. Must see show.” With another adding: “The absolute best first episode of a new series.”

The show ran for two seasons, airing in 2010 and 2012, and during its run, it clinched the International Emmy for Best Drama. Olivia Colman also bagged a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress in series two for her episode ‘Mo’s Story’.

The episode’s synopsis reveals: “Mo Murray (Anne-Marie Duff) has taken a stand against drugs, gangs and gun crime in her community but now she stands alongside her mother Maureen (Ruth Sheen) and her 17 year old son Jake (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) in the dock. Why?”

The series was adapted by US network Fox two years ago, featuring actresses Abigail Breslin, Felicity Huffman, Cobie Smulders and Rachel Bilson.

Accused is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
