This could seem shocking to many people, especially if you’re experiencing the chill in Britain right now.
However, on Sari Lampinen’s blog, Garden Design Stories, the expert revealed the conditions for an bloom outside.
Sari noted: “Our guests sometimes ask me, ‘Sari, how do you get your orchids to bloom again year after year?’
“And I tell them, as I will do now to you, my little secret for reblooming my orchid plants.”

The simple “trick” is to put the orchids in the garden once summer rolls around.
“They could benefit from the humidity in the air, slight changes in the temperature, and the natural cycles of day and night,” Sari penned.
For the best results, orchid plants are safest in hanging baskets outside during warm weather.
Sari elaborated: “You just put the orchids with their containers into a basket.”

This is to prevent an attack from pests, such as snails. But that’s not the only consideration to be had.
It’s also important to have the hanging basket in a place where there isn’t direct sunlight, which would otherwise scorch the leaves of an orchid.
Another important element is protecting the orchid from heavy rain, which is why a sheltered area in the garden would be the best place to put the hanging basket.
As for the outside temperature, waiting until June to place the orchids outside is advisable.
Then, depending on the weather, the orchids will need to come back inside when the temperature dips in either late August or early September.
As for now, in February, the safest place to store orchids is inside the home, preferably near an east-facing window.
Right now, an orchid might not have any flowers because its blooming season in the UK typically begins in April.
However, beautiful orchids with flowers are available to buy at supermarkets and garden centres.
