Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts bring the Love Earth world tour to Burnaby this Fall.
The tour kicks off in Rätivik, Sweden, beginning European and U.K. dates. The North American leg of the tour begins in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Aug. 8 and concludes in Los Angeles on Sept. 15.
Young’s new band is the Chrome Hearts and features some legends and newcomers in its ranks. Farfisa organist Spooner Oldham has a resume that reaches back to his days as part of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section where he performed on such classics as Wilson Pickett’s Mustang Sally, Percy Sledge’s When a Man Loves a Woman and many others. Guitarist Micah Nelson is the son of outlaw legend Willie Nelson. Corey McCormick, bass and vocals, and drummer Anthony LoGerfo both play in Lukas Nelson’s band Promise of the Real.
Young is partnering with Farm Aid, a charity he co-founded in 1985, to bring HOMEGROWN Concessions to the tour. HOMEGROWN Concessions purchases sustainably farmed food purchased at a fair price and served on compostable dishes to music venues.
