Lynne Marie Stewart, famed for her roles in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Pee-wee’s Playhouse, had died at 78.
Her death was confirmed on Saturday, 22 February, by her friend and fellow actress Cassandra Peterson, who informed fans on social media by writing: “My heart is breaking upon hearing the news of my dear friend Lynne Stewart’s passing.”
She added: ”One of the kindest, sweetest, funniest women who ever lived. The iconic Miss Yvonne of Pee-wee’s Playhouse. She’ll always be ‘the most beautiful woman in Puppetland.’”
Lynne will be remembered mostly for her iconic role as Miss Yvonne , The Most Beautiful Woman in Puppetland, in the children’s show Pee-wee’s Playhouse, which ran from 1986 until 1991.
She was also Charlie Kenny’s mother, Bonnie, in the US sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, a recurring role. Lynne also guest-starred on the Disney shows Good Luck Charlie and Austin & Ally.

Many fans have flocked to social media to pay their respects. One person said on X: “bonnie kelly was always my favorite secondary character. Every scene she was in would never fail to crack me up. There’s so many scenes to pick from but this is one of my favorites. Thank you for the laughs lynne marie stewart.”
A second person also typed: “R.I.P. Lynne Marie Stewart. Effervescent and charming on PEE-WEE, but my favorite role of hers was Charlie’s Mom on ALWAYS SUNNY.”
A third similarly echoed: “Today we lost not only one of the funniest people ever, but one of the most incredibly kind-hearted, warm, generous people in comedy. Some may remember her from Pee Wee’s Playhouse, some from Almost Sunny. I will so miss our friend: the delightful, incomparable Lynne Stewart.”
